That's my family! Maude was my grandfather's aunt. Dorothy and Frankie (Frances) were his sisters. His mother used to make quilts...I wonder if it's hers. Very interested. Please contact me.

Karen, there are a number of Penniston profiles here on WikiTree. Could you give us some of the names that appear on the quilt? The more the better. And are you located where you got the quilt? Where is that? The location could be a big help in narrowing down the list of possibilities.

The 1930 U.S. Census for Fairview, Caldwell, Missouri, United States in the household of William Penniston (wife Alice), appear daughter Maude (single, age 30), and grandchildren Francis (11), Dorothy (6), and Junior (5), all four names appearing on the quilt.

Next door lived Claude and wife  Gertrude (23) & daughter Marjorie (2 yrs 8 mos). 2 more names on the quilt

In WikiTree, we find Dorothy Lee Bollinger formerly Penniston, born Aug 1923 (age 6 at time of 1930 census) in the household of William Penniston Sr and wife Ada Belle ( whose parents were William and Alice). along with siblings Francis and William Jr. Dorothy was born in Caldwell County, the same county in the census. The WikiTree Dorothy, Francis, and William Jr were the grandchildren of William Lee Penniston and Alice, the householders in the census above. I believe the WikiTree profiles are those enumerated in the 1930 Census. One more name on the quilt.

That's a total of 7 names on the quilt described in the census and wikitree. I believe these are at least names from the quilt, if not the original owners of the quilt.

The profile manager for Dorothy is her grand niece, and the granddaughter of William Jr.

Thank you.  I looked a little deeper but was not able to find any living Pennistons.  Those that appeared to be living relatives had disconnected numbers.  Does anyone know any ways to go deeper and try to find living relatives.
✋✋✋ Me! I'm the granddaughter of William Lee Penniston Jr. He was called Junior by the family...
