Can the warning message for unmatched <ref> tags be improved.

+12 votes
The additional warnings for possible data entry errors are a big help, especially for my poor typing.

I have received this message several times.

Warning: Check the data.
The biography has unmatched <ref> tags.

The error was not unmatched tags but a missing quotation mark in an indirect reference.

I had typed <ref name=IndRef"> and missed the leading quotation mark.  Can we improve the warning?

Good grief - thank you Philip. Have gotten this warning after completing merges and usually can find the problem, but there were a few that after spending 15+ minutes, carefully inspecting every line, couldn't find the <ref> error and gave up. They did have this multi use tag and never thought of looking at quotation marks :/

By the way, you don't need to put quotation marks in the 'name=' bit unless you're naming your citation with spaces between your words.

<ref name=IndRef> OR <ref name="Ind Ref">

and also checking that all <ref name="xxx"/> has a target xxx

I'll put it on our todo list, Philip. The data validation for this is still new, so we appreciate the feedback.
