Did John See and his wife have a daughter named Elizabeth See who married Douglas Wyatt?

Question

From looking at the profiles here on WikiTree for John See it looks like he had a daughter named Elizabeth who married twice, first to William Alderson and second to Elihu Ellis.

Though on family search it has listed as a daughter of John See an Eliabeth See who was married to Douglas Wyatt.

Hi Erik,

It seems you have just opened Pandora's box. There are many duplicate profiles (Spouses, children, etc.) in this branch. A lot of research has to be done to fix it.

The husbands of the 2 Margarets are full brothers.

There also is another duplicate of Margaret married to one of them.

Frederick Michael, one of the sons, is married to 3 duplicate wifes.

John See-401 is one of his sons. John See-12 has diffrent parents, but both Johns have a sister named Catherine, both Catherines having the same DOB and POB and the same married name (Johnston).

Being from Virginia, I can tell you that there are many families with the name of "Seay". I've never known any "See" families.

You may want to look up Seay.

This is from familysearch User submitted Pedigrees - often unsourced, so they require confirmation.  There appear to be 2 different John's See listed from this time frame, fathers of the different Elizabeths..

John (Nalus) See who married Mary/Polly Stewart and had a daughter Elizabeth who married Douglas Wyatt. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:SYJK-641

John See who married Margaret Jarret.  Daughter Elizabeth married Elihu Ellis. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:9CW2-83T

There are records showing Elizabeth See (dau of John See and Margaret Gerrad/Jarrett) married 1. Wm. Alderson ( 1813 Kanawha Co, WV Marriage Records 1794-1826 p. 15  and 2. Elihu Ellis. (28 Feb 1822 Wayne Co, IN).

1830 and 1840 IN census records shows 2 Alderson daughters living with the Ellises; 1850 IN census names Julia Alderson with the Ellises.
