Watson Hood, born in Kansas May 25 1886 died in Kewanee, IL February 25, 1937, burried in Cuba Illinois.
The first census record i can find of him is 1910, living in Fulton County, Illinois, married to Zella Worley, born April 8 1887 died Feb 19 of 1947. They were married between1900 and 1910 census. No records in Illinois of Watson prior to 1910.
Census records wobble a few days on his birth, but the tombstone in Cuba says May 25. In sensous records from Illinois 1910-1930, he is listed as born in Kansas. 1910 censous lists his mom from Pensylvania, and 1920 as his dad from Ohio. There is a mention on ancestory.com that his mom might have been named Emma.
In my census searches, Watson seems to be the ancestor of all present day Hood's in that region of Illinois. In records I have looked at, there are no siblings mentioned.
A cursory examination of Kansas census records 1890-1900 do not show a Watson Hood.
The larger question is this: Where did they live in Kansas, how did they get to Kansas from Pennsylvania and Ohio, and why is Watson the only Hood ancestor that settled in that region of Illinois?
If anybody has any information, please let me know.
