Need second set of eyes before proposing merge

I'd like someone else to check this before I propose a merge. Today I randomly picked a profile (Carrigan-77) to add sources as I was intrigued by his wife named Wife White https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/White-4004. I haven't found a marriage, but it seems that Wife should be merged into Mary Winters https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Winters-954. More details can be found by looking at the sources on the profiles - his and her death certs, census.

Hi Kay, I'm happy to share my eyes, but I don't see very much when I compare the two profiles. It would help if you could enter the facts you found for Lawrence's wife separately in her profile.
Laurie,

All the facts I have are on the linked profile -- his death, her death, their census.
Hi Kay,

Its not easy to untangle a bad merge, so as a general rule, I don't propose or complete a merge until the similarity between the two profiles that would be merged is clear to any reader.

Unless I misunderstood your question, you asked for a second opinion on a possible merge between White-4004 with Winters-954.

My response to your request is that I do not yet see enough information in either of those two profiles to support a merge.

Since the information you found is located somewhere else, I am suggesting that it be moved into the appropriate place(s) before a merge is proposed. It's just a suggestion!

Laurie
Thank you Laurie. I knew my thoughts were a bit medicine muddled. I need to try to find a census for her prior to marriage and also look for birth, marriage or death information on the children which often have clues. All I have now are his marriage, their census records, and hints from FindAGrave.

Untangling bad merges is nasty. One of the things that brought me to WikiTree was the opportunity to document publicly with sources then fix a conflated ancestor who has been replicated around Ancestry and FamilySearch FamilyTree.

Hi Kay, I like what you've done, and I would support the merge now, for sure.

I also want to give you kudos for tackling a random problem. It can feel like a thankless job (even without medication), but each small improvement contributes to the overall quality and integrity of WikiTree!
