My 3GGparents were allegedly married in Pear Ridge, South Carolina. I need to find out where that is. Neither The Internet searches could not find anything about it.

thanks.

The closest thing I can find is a reference to a "Pea Ridge" Highway in Union County, SC.  (No "Pear" Ridge, though.)  Maybe it's one of those places that vanished.  I found the highway on Google maps, but not really as a specific place.  Google maps located the highway in Jonesville, Union County, South Carolina.  There appears to be an actual place in NORTH Carolina called Pea Ridge.

"Pear Ridge" mostly brought up Dallas, Texas.

None of this is probably very helpful, but I thought I'd mention it for discussion's sake.  Maybe there's something to be found in either Union County, South Carolina, or in North Carolina.  I don't know my history/geography very well -- did the borders change over the years to skew the search in modern times?

*(I see that Richard Shelley beat me to the North Carolina idea)

Do you have a profile for them? Maybe more records will shed some light on the location.

Hi Max

I'm having a look to see what I  find. The closest I have gotten so far is Pea Ridge, North Carolina. The wiki article is not much help

It could be a local name in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Do you have a County Name?  Or, better yet, a Township Name?

Do you have profiles for them? Do you have any sources, like census, that might be clues where they lived before and after their marriage? Also information about their parents.

If you can find a county, sites like usgenweb and genealogytrails often have lists of historic place names, as well as links to adjacent counties. Local county history and genealogy websites may also have information.

Finding a county to look for is probably the key.
