Hello! Another WikiTree person proposed a merge between the following individuals: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Meier-1089 (from my tree - and yes, I don't have documentation I can refer to online, this was based on a tree that's been handed down to me. I don't know what research was done)
And:
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Meyer-7917 I do think there's a high probability they are the same person - especially since I have two of the same children (Jacob and Mary) attached to her on my paper tree. I feel like more research is needed to confirm the birth place/dates as I was always informed that she was from Switzerland. However, I do not have any documentation on this. What is the suggested protocol on merge requests this? My first reaction was to mark it as postpone with an Unmerged Match because I don't have enough evidence that they are the same person. But at the same time, I don't have evidence that they aren't.
There is another Elizabeth Meier (Meier-839) attached to the husband's profile, so you first need to establish which LNAB is correct since the other 2 profiles may have to be merged into this third profile.
I would recommend removing the proposed merge and setting 2 unmerged matches into Meier-839 to allow time for all the discrepancies to be researched and resolved.
The manager for Meier-839 has not been active for over a year, so you may want to send a trusted-list request. If your request hasn't been processed after a week, proceed to the other collaboration steps; if you've received no response after a couple of weeks, submit the Unresponsive Profile Managers form to have the profile orphaned. Then you can adopt it to facilitate the presumed eventual merges of the other 2 profiles.
