LDS Project Challenge - Dec 2017/Jan 2018 - Mormon Battalion [closed]

Question

Hello everyone, it is time for a new challenge!

The winner of last month's challenge was Linda Green, with 324 profiles categorized! You can see how everyone did here.

This month we are going to focus on the Mormon Battalion. The Mormon Battalion was the only religiously-based military unit in United States history. Over 500 men served in the Mormon Battalion during the Mexican-American War. You can read more about it at Wikipedia.

The rules for this month are:

1. You get 1 point for each profile you mark with either the {{Mormon Battalion}} sticker or [[Category: Mormon Battalion]]. (The sticker will add the category, so you don't need both).
2. The profile can be an already existing profile, or a newly created one.
3. Make sure there is at least one source on the profile that has to do with their participation in the Mormon Battalion.

 

If you create a profile for this challenge and don't want to be the manager, you may add the project account as the manager (wikitree-lds-project [at] googlegroups [dot] com) and add the {{LDS}} project template.

I will give this a try. I remember quite a few profiles in the last challenge who were members of the Mormon Battalion.

I think most of the battalion would have been early members. There are only about 500 of them so I think we can get most of them categorized during the challenge.
