A good starting point would be to buy a copy of his marriage certificate. That would give you where they were living at the time of the marriage and would also give you his father’s name and occupation. You can work back from there to look for the marriage of his parents and for his birth.

Why would you want too start by spending money unless you wanted an Heirloom?
I wouldn't spendany money on david
To get the additional information that you cannot pick up by just reading indexes and transcripts. Often helps to make sure you are climbing the correct branch of the tree and are not off on a wild goose chase.
True the more you can get to your advantage the better.( You have to love wild goose chases they are inevitable. hahaha(:

Thanks a lot your a star, you see David wasn't a very nice husband or dad so there was little to no info given to me by the family to say his name is like swearing in me nanna house.this has really helped a lot.
His info has helped a lot.I am ever so grateful for all the help.
Well David Selman does not get 2 "Wonderful wikitreer" awards in one day for nothingXD. He is the man with that Sel-A-man Hand.
This is what I've got so far ~dad is George Freeman met and married a Evelyn protheroe who was Welsh they had 3 sons and 1 daughter, David 1939-1988 married my nan Thomasina Whitby 1938- had 6 kids 1 of which was my mum Pauline Alison Freeman 1962- who had me- mellissa freeman 1978-. George was a docker on Liverpool docks Evelyn was timid and hardly spoke because George was a b_stard like David.

Go to this website here;https://www.familysearch.org/

Then gather all the info you possibly can too narrow down your searches and see if you find records that have names you recognize. I'm confident you will succeed because on that website there is millions of recorded records predominately in Britain And U.S. from 1500-present
