Rebecca Beasley [[Besley-923]] (1656-1680) was not alive when Mary (Cox) Coleman was born, so how can she be Mary's mother.  Mary (Coleman) Cox was born in Lunenburg County in the same year that John Coleman was born in Gloucester County to Thomas Coleman and Rebecca Ann Claibourne  (See http://www.wuelzer.com/familytree/Book/ColemanBook.html).  Even if Rebecca Bealsey were Thomas's first wife, she died din 1680 and all the children listed in the book of the Mobjack Bay Coleman's were the children of Thomas Coleman, Sr., and Rebecca Ann Claibourne.

geni.com also shows Mary Lort to be the wife of this Thomas Coleman whereas http://www.wuelzer.com/familytree/Book/ColemanBook.html shows her to be the wife of his cousin, Thomas Coleman.  Its easy to make mistakes when there are duplicate names, two Thomas Coleman's belonging to the Mobjack Bay Colemans.  But Rebecca (Beasley) Coleman died in 1680, how can she be Mary (Coleman) Cox's mother?
