Why did a PDF I uploaded/removed from my private profile show up on my public profile and now I can't remove it?

+7 votes
I was experimenting with adding a PDF document to my profile. I uploaded it as a photo to my private profile, saw how it looked, and then followed the instructions for removing it. However, it is now visible on my public profile, which is not want I want at all.

How do I remove a PDF file permanently?

Why did it show up on my public profile?

How do I keep that from happening again as my family and I share personal information about living ancestors that we don't want public?

Thanks for your help!

Where is the PDF on your public profile? I'm looking at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sturgill-53 but I don't see it.

Ah, I have an idea. You may have seen the thumbnail for the PDF in the history/change item that appears on the profile. The last change is listed on a profile. This is no longer the last change so it's not there anymore. Plus, history items just contain thumbnails. You can click on the thumbnail and see the full image/PDF, but people who aren't on your Trusted List cannot.
Thanks Chris! I just noticed it was gone too and it makes me feel better knowing that it wouldn't really be visible to those not on my Trusted List! I'm a newbie here and panicked for a minute!
