There are different privacy levels on Wikitree which allow the contributor to set the level at what the public can see (to some degree).

Also, don't add info and data that isn't already publicly available.  For instance if I put your name into Family Search, I see these results: https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3AShauna~%20%2Bsurname%3ARuttan~

...and that's for a living person.  There should be more information for your ancestors (hopefully).  So you could stick to those ancestors that are already gone to really play it safe.  :)
You can't. If it's something you're really concerned about, don't put it on a wiki. I agree with Vincent that you should probably not put living people on here other than yourself, and definitely don't do it without their express permission.

Hi Shauna, welcome aboard.  You may already know about the different privacy settings for profiles you create, which are explained here:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Privacy

There are those protections in place for data about children, other living people, and living descendants who might object to having data on the web about their deceased relatives.  But beyond that, you need to consider that this is a public web site that can be accessed by anyone, and any data you put here is not otherwise "secure."  Best policy is that if you think it's sensitive or would upset someone, don't post it on the web anywhere.  But most members who have been at this site for a while have discovered that just about everything they post here is available somewhere else on the web to anyone who is willing to spend time searching for it.

Since this is a collaborative site any data which you add as public will be open to changes by other members. Wikitree has a good tracking system that enables you to see which changes have been made and to reverse them if necessary.
