How do I disconnect someone's page from someone else's page?

How do I unattach someone's mother from their page?    I thought Dempsey-641 (Catherine Dempsey) was the mother of Stephens-4048 (Robert Stephens) but after doing some research, I found out that wasn't true.    Robert Stephens' mother's name is very close but it is not the same.

On the edit page for Robert, look at the right side under "Mother" and click the "edit mother" link.  Scroll all the way down and click the big green button to REMOVE his mother.
