I am contacting you from Newfoundland Canada. My great great grandmother was Mahala Marshall who married my gg grandfather S Tulk in 1855. She had a brother David. The name Marshall appears in Newfoundland in the mid 1700's. There was a William born here in 1821. There was a Thomas who moved to the US and had a son William die in Boston in 1832 at age 10. Thomas wife was named Selina. It was not uncommon for many families to move from Newfoundland to the US in the 1800's. Google the following site Newfoundland Grand Banks Genelogy and type Marshall in the search page. It may give you some potential leads..... Other common Marshall names here is George, Philip, Elizabeth, Mary, Ameila, Amy, etc. Good Luck,
