I have completed the GEDCOM Compare, how to upload the file?

This whole WikiTree is a mystery to me. I imported a very good Gedcom that I have worked on for many years with Ancestry. So I have been through the compares etc (several times) and there are no other actions required. Why can I not now up-load this Compare file? I have spent an enormous amount of time on this and now feel cheated.

If you have worked through all of the entries. You should now see Add buttons on the individual entries that you want to continue processing. Couple of things to check if you are not seeing them:

  • Does the number processed agree with the total number? You see these numbers up near the top of your gedcompare report.
  • Did you use the completed tick? This should only be used for lines you do not want to take any further action on. If you marked everything as completed then you will have to uncheck the box for the people you want to add or update.

Welcome to G2G forum Graham.

Please see the following help page:

"family trees are not automatically added to WikiTree."

"You add people one at a time after confirming or rejecting suggested matches."

The "Action buttons" secton says:

"Add buttons don't appear on the main table until all suggested matches in your GEDCOM have been confirmed or rejected."

So check your GEDCOM out to see if there are any matches pending of being confirmed/rejected.

The new GEDCOM process is still a "beta" version:

"We know there are improvements to be made. Please help by posting suggestions and reporting problems. Thank you!"

Post/report anything not working as expected.

Best of luck.

Thank you for the explanation below, however, there still seems to be a problem;

I have checked all 223 entries for confirm or reject, so my front page looks like this:

Screenshot 2017-12-27 10.56.18.png

I have unchecked the first entry and would expect to see a button saying send to Wikitree, either individually or as a wholesale group.  There appears to be no button.

I have also a screenshot of the last page:

This appears also not to be the correct procedure, as Upload a GEDCOM button appears to be for a GEDCOM file, not the modified Wikitree file.

Please, can you help?
