PGM: Origins of John Thompson/Thomson - (New Hampshire Genealogical Record Vol 9, No 2/3 1992)

Question

I could use some help looking at the origins of John Thompson of Weymouth and Mendon, Massachusetts - maybe the son of immigrant David Thompson, maybe not.

I've summarized some of the info in an Uncertain Origins section.  The big issue is that Anderson in The Great Migration Begins references a 1992 New Hampshire Genealogical Record article by Douglas Richardson (Vol 9...I think No. 2/3) that argues David's son stayed in London.

I know that what Anderson says pretty much goes, unless there is more recent research.  But I have to say that the already existing court petitions from John as an heir to David for possession Thompson Island are pretty convincing. Perhaps the Richardson article addresses this, but I haven't been able to find a copy.

John's christening date has the same month and year but an earlier day than the WikiTree profile.

After reading the Court records and Suffolk deeds (now linked on John's page,) I am convinced that the John Thompson son and heir of David was a different man than John of Weymouth and Mendon. He was younger, He was called Mr. and also called John Thompson of London. You can't be of London and Massachusetts at the same time. He should be disconnected.
