Is there a good reference for what "New Brunswick" was called at any given time?

Question

Title says it. I want to make sure I use the correct naming for locations when fixing profiles.  Referring to Newcastle, Northumberland, New Brunswick, Canada in 1776 doesn't seem right but that is a lot of what I'm seeing. Is there a handy list to work from?

I agree with Vince.  In 1776, Nova Scotia included New Brunswick, and ''Canada'' referred to what is now Ontario.  

When I'm not sure, I use the wikipedia pages Vincent has suggested.

Thank you, Jean (and everyone else who commented). Your spreadsheet is very useful. I'm still coming up to speed on New Brunswick history and a quick reference is perfect until I remember the dates.

I grew up in New Brunswick and am familiar with its history, and the summary given in the Wikipedia page sounds right to me. I'd put the name timeline like this:

- 1604-1763: Acadie (though English/New England settlers had started settling the St. John River Valley under the jurisdiction of Nova Scotia several years before that)

- 1763- 1784: Nova Scotia

-1784-present: New Brunswick

I'd also note that it wouldn't be historically accurate to consider New Brunswick part of Canada before Confederation in 1867. Before that time, 'Canada' referred only to modern Quebec (Lower Canada) and Ontario (Upper Canada)
