Sharing a Stewart Resource

Question

Working on some early settlers of Bath, Rockbridge, Augusta, Greenbrier, Virginia, I found this resource:

Working backward from me, I found an ancestor "Richard Stewart", who died in the Civil War and interred in Arlington. (1817-1862). He was married to Susannah Susan Rodgers (Rogers) (1818-1900) I found a death cert for his daughter, Pleasant Stewart Bowen (1857-1926), who listed her father as John (Richard's middle name?). Richard and Susannah were born in PA, as many of their children. Richard has become my brick wall. Has anyone come across him? They had 11 children.

Thank you so much for this. Unfortunately, none of it mentions his parentage. Of course, using the name Dick at one time just gives me another alias to ponder. Again, I appreciate your time and help.

His parents are bound to be recorded somewhere. . . he's a Stewart, afterall.  There are a ton of Stewarts in the Monongahela area and Richard's father is out there.  It's just a matter of digging deeper to find him.
