I am wondering if any of our 1812 War researchers can tell me where I might find a description of 5 Artillery and infantry Regt't (Colden's), New York Militia War of 1812?
I am looking for information specific to a Martin Ebert who served in this Reg't.War of 1812 Service Records, National Archives and Records Administration, Compiled Military Service records for the Volunteer Soldiers who served during the war of 1812, Washington DC, NARA M602, 234 Rolls.
Where did this unit draw it's troops from? There are a few Martin Ebert's that this gentleman could be and two specifically from NY. The fella I am looking into has this unit connected to him, a Martin Ebert who was born in the US, lived in Quebec at the time and may have returned to the US to fight. Want to see If I can place this record with the correct Martin Ebert.
Thanks for the help,
Mags
