How to merge with permission what would be a duplicate profile if I procede?

Question

I have permission to merge with Walter 2848, but do not fully understand the process and do not wish to make errors.  The profile that would be a duplicate is for Cyrince Walter who married Henry McMillen.  Cyrince's dob and dod as well as the place of both are a complete match with the information that comes up as a duplicate when I try to enter Cyrince as the spouse for Henry.  The manager of that information, Allan Morton, has given me permission to merge with Walter 2848; however the steps to do so are not known to me with this software.  Please help

Hi AnneLeigh

On Henry McMillen's profile you select "Add a Spouse"

Then next to option A in the block you add Walter-2848. If you then click on Go it will add Allan Morton's profile for Cyrince Walter as your Henry's spouse.

After that you will also have to propose a merge between the 2 Henry's  Mcmillen-21 & McMillen-641

At this time we have two profiles representing Henry McMillen:

Mcmillen-21 married to Cyrince and McMillen-641.

Please see the following help page:

Just merge both profiles. The marriage (To Cyrince) can be kept at the time the merge is completed. The resulting (And only) profile representing Henry will be the husband of Cyrince.

Please note the different last name spellings: Mcmillen and McMillen. If the correct spelling is McMillen, then Mcmillen-21 (ID-1) is to be merged into McMillen-641 (ID-2) in the "Matching and Merging Profiles" form.
