Eric Daly has added a profile for Daniel Daly a great American War hero and one of the most decorated   Eric added  Daniel Daly's profile for the Roll of Honor pages that Terri Rick and Trib set up ,at the moment Daniel is not attached to any ones family on WikiTree is there any wikitree members who are related or would be willing to help grow his Family Tree

It seems such a shame with such a  American War Hero with the caliber of  Daniel Daly not to be connected to any other profiles on WikiTree,Daniel Daly is also also nominated in this weeks Profile of the week  Eric Daly has done such a lovely job no further work would have to be done on the Profile Terry

The Awards Daniel Daly recieved not counting Purple Hearts

  • 2 Medal of Honor
  • Navy Cross
  • Distinguished Service Cross
  • Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with 2 service stars
  • China Relief Expedition Medal
  • Philippine Campaign Medal
  • Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal with 1 service star

That is an awesome profile.
The link for the 1880 Census that includes his father is on the page. Is there a reason no one has added John Daly (1835), Ireland, to the line?
Hi Michelle Eric added Daniel Daly's profile for the Roll of Honor page that Trib and Terri Rick set up i think Eric was hoping that a member of WikiTree was related to Daniel Daly and help grow his tree Terry
Michelle is quite right with the 1880 census, that john born 1835 his father is denis daly and mother julia mcauliffe, but there was 3 other john and ellen daly's in new york, im just  trying to work out which one. the one that has the father of denis is related to me and with a profile such as daniels care is needed thank you
On my profiles, I add any info I can find - even dubious data, I just 'mark' it in the bio as such - it can always be corrected later -  for me, when sleuthing it's easier to have it in the profile instead of a hard copy notebook.  That way anyone doing a search can connect and possibly flesh out the data I have found.

Sometimes it does make things complicated - just got through spending 2 days sorting out John of Bromhall Davenport & John Jenkin Davenport (brothers)-  but if the data had only been in my notebook, it would never have been completed.

BTW - I <3 wikitree
Thanks Michelle, the parents are a john and ellen daly no problem there, just which ones, your way does have merrits but in the case of a 2x Medal of Honor Winner care is needed. i have added the parents and i will add the siblings. one is a Julia  Thanks Again. Eric
PLEASE, don't think I was being pushy or bossy - we all have our methods.  I have a few Daly's in my daughter-in-law's (or maybe son-in-law's) tree - I will see if any "fit".
Your Help is very much appreciated, any help and ideas to put daniel with the right family even if its not mine are appreciated, thank you Michelle
