My Great Great Grandparents were born in Hallefors, Orebro and Ljusnersberg, Orebro in the early 1840s and married 17 November 1867 in Kila, Vastmanland and I hope to learn more and help others as I learn enough to be able to help.  This is why I would like to join the Sweden Project.

My Great Grandfather was born in Broby, Sweden, I am interested in the project.

All of my mother's grandparents were born in Sweden and moved to Minnesota, USA as adults.  I have been putting a family tree together on Ancestry.com and a distant cousin in Sweden has been helping me.  He has enabled me to connect back through researching church records.

I found a third cousin who still is part owner of the farmhouse where our great grandparents were born in Hansjö, Orsa, Dalarna, Sweden.  We visited in 2016.

Hello Eva and others - the original Sweden Project page appears to be closed. I'm not sure how to proceed. I would like to be included in the group, although I cannot provide a lot of assistance as I'm US-based and don't speak Swedish. I did travel and trace my origins in Karlskrona and Växjö and so that filled in my tree quite a bit, plus some excellent help from others here. I would like to share this database resource for those needing help in the south:  http://ddss.nu/

One way to share the database resource would be to give it a question of its own here in G2G. For the time being that would probably be the best, since the project is in the process of reorganizing its resource pages.

As for "the original Sweden Project page appears to be closed" - I do hope you mean the  previous version of the thread for joining, nothing else? Since I am the one handing out the badges, I thought it safest to start a new thread, so that I get the email notifications.

I suspect my 3rd ggrandfather emigrated to Helsingor, Denmark from across the strait in Helsingborg, Sweden around .1720.

Here are my details that I hope will make the process easier:

My suspected Swedish ancestor is Adam Andreas Anders Borgquist.  Born 1773 possibly in Sweden; died before 1873.  Married before 1799 Benedicte Cathrine Dalberg.  Son born 1799 Gusav Adolph Fredrik Borgquist in Denmark.

My earliest Sweedish ancestors are Jon Bengtsson and Bergatta Niladtr their son Lars Bengtsson arrived in North America on the ship Mercurius in 1656. His son Anders Bengtsson married Gertrude Rambo daughter of Peter Gunnarson Rambo one of the founding members of New Sweeden Colony in America.

My mother's parents were both born in Sweden (in Skaraborg County) and emigrated as teenagers to NYC in the 1890's where they met and married.  My grandfather was a Larsson; my grandmother, who immigrated with her mother, had the surname of "Carlsdotter" while in Sweden but changed it to "Almquist" when they arrived in NYC.  I've been trying to put together a tree on ancestry.com, but haven't been able to go back many generations.  I'm currently waiting on the results of my DNA (sample submitted to ancestry.com last week) and hope that will shed more light on my Swedish ancestors.

Just received DNA results and it shows that I am 10.4 percent Scandinavian. Therefore I request to join this Swedish  ancestry group to discover these roots.

I'd like to join Project Sweden. My Great Grandfather '''Carl Gustav Herbert [[Laurin-17]]''' was from Gotland and my Great Grandmother '''Hildur Ingebory [[Johnsson-1320]]''' was from Stockholm. They settled here in Lowell, Massachusetts, where they gave birth to my Grandfather Sven Albert Laurin.
