My Great Great Grandparents were born in Hallefors, Orebro and Ljusnersberg, Orebro in the early 1840s and married 17 November 1867 in Kila, Vastmanland and I hope to learn more and help others as I learn enough to be able to help.  This is why I would like to join the Sweden Project.

All of my mother's grandparents were born in Sweden and moved to Minnesota, USA as adults.  I have been putting a family tree together on Ancestry.com and a distant cousin in Sweden has been helping me.  He has enabled me to connect back through researching church records.

I found a third cousin who still is part owner of the farmhouse where our great grandparents were born in Hansjö, Orsa, Dalarna, Sweden.  We visited in 2016.

Hopefully I'll get this right; my ancestry.com DNA test shows that I'm 50% from Scandanavia, no surprise there since both of my father's parents were born in Våstra Vingäker, Södermanland, Sweden in the late 1800's.

My father's paternal grandparents came from Sweden in the mid 1860s, first to the upper peninsula of Michigan and then to central Minnesota. My father's great-grandmother also came to Michigan, but I don't know what happened to her. I have broadened my search by researching all of the families that are buried in the same cemetery as my father's grandparents, Bethany Cemetery, Blue Mounds Township, Pope County, Minnesota. Most of them came from Ljusnarsberg or neighboring parishes, but there are still a few that I am not sure about.

Going forward, I plan to add the ancestors of these people and attempt to discover what their ties were to Finland.

one of my double great grandma's parents are from sweden, but while i managed to find the names of all her  grandparents- i only found the names of some of her great grandparents- due to the fact the records at Horn and Hycklinge prior to mid-1840's aren't available online. so i'm not sure if i could help with project sweden.

The older records for Horn and Hycklinge, particularly those for birth-marriage-death aren't available anywhere, because there was a fire in the archive in 1851. Not much of a consolation :-(

that sucks. also how do you cite swedish church records since they can't be viewed be regular familysearch users.? i attempted to dig thru them and did find both my 2nd great jennie's grandfathers baptisms at least. maybe some day, i'll try to find her grandpa sven gustaf's grandparents and so forth since it appears that sven gustaff didn't come from horn or hycklinge.

All Swedish church records older than 70 years are avalable free of charge at Riksarkivet, our National Archives. The Digital Research room is a good starting place. Follow the link to Church archives and search for a parish.

There will be a mix of Swedish and English, since there is an English version of the general interface, but the content has not been translated.

I have written a little about the types of document here.

I also looked up the birth record for Anders Dahlqvist and cited it in his profile, with a link.

3 of my 8 great-grandparents are from Sweden having come to America around 1880. Two came from Östergötland and one from Blekinge.

I would like to join the Swedish Project. I am from Sweden and my ancestors can be found in Skåne, on my father's side in Göinge since the 15th century and on my mother's side in the south western part of the county.

I would love to join the Sweden Project. My maternal grandfather's lineage is Swedish (mostly from Bredared / Västra Götaland / Värmland) and they eventually found their way to Michigan and Wisconsin.

My most recent ancestor to immigrate to America came from Sweden in 1888. Some of my most recent brick walls are from his line. I also don't know what happened to him in America after the 1920s and his name was quite common (John Oscar Johnson, originally Johann Oskar Johansson).

I have a Swedish surname and have enjoyed many a smorgasbord, hardtack, pickled and creamed herring (creamed a fave), pressed silta, swedish meatballs, and rice pudding with an almond with my dear, departed in-laws as well as "Scanhoovian" friends.

We have many Swedish ancestors photos, including a pile that are unidentified. This looks like a great place for help.
