Adding gedcom persons to WikiTree - seldom find ADD option, why?

What is the actual sequence in adding GEDCOM to WikiTree?    I have read the answers provided to this type of question, but none of the answers provides a step-wise solution.

In attempting to piece together a flow, I just get stuck -- no way of adding the person other than field by field.

The answers are inline if the folks imported their GEDCOM when WikiTree was accepting import into the tree, and the answers aren't from folks who have attempted to add their portion of the tree into WikiTree.

Can someone who has had to bring in their GEDCOM the new way AND figured out the steps please provide the steps they took.

If following the steps, one should never be shown your GEDCOM person without a way to ADD them to WikiTree if context is a person who is matched to a person in WikiTree.

It was confusing to me at first, too. You really have to deal with _every_ _single_ possible match on your GEDCOMpare report before it'll give you "add" buttons for everyone. Make sure you haven't hidden completed rows, then sort by the last column ("WikiTree Profiles") to group everyone with a suggested match together at the top.

The first step in working with GEDCOMpare is to review the suggested matches. After you have accepted or rejected every suggested match in the file before you will be able to see ADD buttons on the main screen in GEDCOMpare. (Before then, you will occasionally see ADD buttons for some people -- when you open up a COMPARE screen that shows a family group in which there are no suggested matches remaining to be processed.)

Once you have finished reviewing suggested matches, I recommend (based on my experience with the new Gedcompare) that you open a COMPARE screen for someone in your Gedcompare who is metched to a profile in Wikitree (maybe this will be your own profile). Use the ADD buttons displayed on that COMPARE page to add profiles for that person's immediate family members who are already in WikiTree. If you always work from people who are in WikiTree, and add their family members, you should preserve the connections between family members. (On the other hand, if you ADD isolated profiles from the main screen, you are likely to lose the connection information from your GEDCOM.)

Ellen,

I have gone through my list and yet to see an ADD button. All I see search and compare. What's the point of uploading a gedcom? Not really seeing a benefit to this new system.
It looks like you've seen at least a few ADD buttons by now, Allen, since you've created several new profiles from your Gedcom. The reason you aren't seeing more is that you haven't finished reviewing the suggested matches. The system requires us to record an accept or reject decision on every suggested match before ADD buttons will appear on the main Gedcompare screen.

The OP is correct, and the answers given are not applicable or mostly unhelpful. The answer is to use the REFRESH link under Add and EDIT

Add & Edit: Use comparison pop-ups to add relatives and improve profiles on WikiTree. People in GEDCOM: 1483. Marked as completed: 161.   refresh | more info Help

161 / 1483
That will, AFAIK, work for everyone who don't see buttons and have matched or rejected every since suggestion
Tim, I just looked at your GEDCOMpare, and I see lots of ADD buttons.

Look at the page https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:UploadGedcom&action=process&gu_id=161148

The last column in the table on that page has the heading  WikiTree Profiles. In many rows of that table, you should see little ADD buttons (dark green background with white lettering at the left-hand side of the column.
That's what I said, if they aren't showing up you have to click on REFRESH. I was trying to be helpful, after not seeing any other suggested solutions that I hadn't already tried. Just trying to be helpful to anyone else who is combing through a dozen or so posts and not seeing that.
