Can anyone researching the Price branch show a valid source that Kalem Price was a son of Adjalon Price?

Adjalon (Arjalon) Garner Price Sr., b. 1697 Richmond, Henrico Co., Virginia, d. April 29, 1773 St. Thomas Parish, Orange Co., Virginia, is being shown as the father of Kalem Price almost universally throughout every geneological database available.  Every source given is family data.  As Kalem Price was born in 1712, I find it hard to believe Adjalon had a son, out of wedlock at 15 years old.  There is no mention of Kalem Price in his will or writings, of which there are numerous verfied authentic copies still available.  I am one hundred percent positive my ancestor, Kalem Price was not the son of Adjalon Price.

I don't know for a fact if Kalem Price is Adjalon's son but I can tell you that it was not uncommon back in those days for children that were 14 and 15 yrs old having babies and getting married for that matter.

This is true Tina, but, Colonel Price and Joyce Barber were not married until June 1712, leaving only 7 months for Kalem to have been born in 1712.  It is not common to have a child out of wedlock in that time period.  Also, there is no mention, what-so-ever, nor are there any valid sources connecting Kalem Price to Adjalon and Joyce Price.  I have original documents passed down thru the paternal line of my father going all the way back to Kalem's son Thomas and there is nothing prior to Kalem I can find.  The Colonel left in his will land to every child he had EXCEPT Kalem.  there is no mention of him at all.  A puzzlement.

Have been doing alot of research lately and have found nothing factual that confirms Kalem is the son to Adjalon.  I can not find Kalem's birth certificate, nor can I find any U.S Census that shows him in the household.  As far as the will the Colonel didn't mention Kalem possible due to the fact that Kalem passed in 1758 and the Colonel passed in 1773.  Do you know when the Colonel constructed his will?  If it was after 1758 then no mention would be made of his dead son I would assume.  I will stay on the hunt and keep you updated if I find anything.

Hey Tina, the Colonel's Will is dated March 10, 1719, which is 7 years after the birth of Kalem.  I'm not real sure when a connection of made between Kalem and the Colonel and what that connection actually is, but, I cannot say enough how much I appreciate the help from you on this.  It has driven me insane for a couple of years now.  I have extensive documents and pictures of my branch of Prices from Jesse Benton Price Sr down to myself, but Thomas and Kalem I have only what I could gleen from the internet.  If there is something I have that you would like just tell me who, what or when and I will see what I have and email it to you stat.  thank you again for your help!
