There is nothing to support the claim that John Roblin was the father of Philip and Owen Roblin.
There is an old story that a John Roblin and Elizabeth Ricketson were the parents of our early Roblins but that is easily disproved. Elizabeth Ricketson d/o Jonathan Ricketson and Abigail Howland married Henry Gidley in 1754 in Dartmouth and he does not die until 1803.
John Roblin the h/o Sarah Wessels is not the parent of Philip and Owen....Sarah is not born until 1761. Nor are they they parents of Owen Roblin Jr. (Owen One Eye) as the Wannamakers thought....I have done the research to prove that. Nor are they the parents of Elizabeth Roblin w/o Seth Stevens. This Elizabeth is the 4th child of Owen Roblin Sr who came on the Hope with 2 children over 10 and 2 children under 10. Elizabeth is born aby 1775 at the latest (her marriage to Seth being Nov 1791 by which time she would have been at least 16. That woud have made Sarah Wessels 14 at the time of Elizabeth's birth......just not realistic.
In short the parentage of Owen, Philip, Edward, John, Stephen and Anni s unknown. HOWEVER what I do know is that there was an Owen Roblin in PA from 1722-1727 when he loses his property for unpaid taxes. I believe he is either the father or grandfather of our Roblins. He may also be the Ones Rabbin, husband of Rebecca, who baptizes his daughter Catherine in New Jersey in 1841.
