Best way to have Locations for a Profile in Quebec

I was cleaning up a data suggestion 408 Multiple marriages on same day and noticed that the original locations was written as  Beaumont, QC, Canada.

As the birth date was 1792 the location wasn't called Quebec at that time and was called the same name for the Marriage in 1818. Should I keep the locations in English (Like I have put the birth) or in French (Like the Marriage).

Also if it should be French could someone who knows the proper name in French please change it.

I found the names on Wikipedia so they may need to be adjusted to correct French spelling if it is recommended that they should be French.

Thank you

Darren

Thanks for asking Darren,

You can visit the Quebecois Project page to get ALL the information on locations by the time period.

See... https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Quebecois#Guidelines_for_place_names

Please note also that Qc, is an abbeviation and should not be used. The full name Quebec is used, and adding (Qc, Canada) at the end of the name also is not right.

I am sorry Data Doctors can't add that error in their database... we have almost 20,000 profiles to correct. Would love to see all profile managers correct those :)

Thank you Guy for pointing out that wonderful guideline page. It looks like I was sort of correct with how I adjusted the names with only a minor correction needed.
