Can someone explain to me how to save my work to a flash drive?

I have several family tree programs and would like to save one tree to a flash drive I just purchased.

Assuming that you don't have too many profiles to save ... and that you're on a PC, not a MAC (I know diddley about a MAC ...)

Open a word processor window..  On a profile you want to save,  Get into edit mode .. copy all the text (click at the upper left, . left click your mouse and drag the cursor to the end of the profile ... press CTRL C.  Go to the word processor page and paste what you just copied CTRL V ... save that as a file to your flash drive.  If you have several profiles then you'll probably want to do some type of formatting (folders, whatever) there before you start.

You get into edit mode so that you can copy that back and continue editting at a later time.

Assuming you're trying to save the data and not just the output, almost all desktop applications will have a Save As... option in the File menu somewhere, so you should open that and save the data to the flash drive. You can also just copy the data file to the flash drive if you can find it. If you're trying to save a formatted output, like an actual tree or chart, a lot of software will have an option to save or print things like that to PDF format. I think copy and paste into a word processor window should be kind of a last resort, since it's not going to save the data in a really usable way.

I would suggest exporting a WikiTree gedcom file of your work:  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:DownloadGedcom  That would be the best way to save all the family line twigs for a particular person.
