What would you call someone who has requested to join WikiTree? [closed]

Since we went invitation-only back in January or so, you have to request an invitation to become a WikiTree member. Unless you're invited by a family member, you'd generally send a message to one of the "Greeters" on http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Members_to_contact_for_an_invitation

What is a good one or two-word term for someone who has requested to join the WikiTree community?

I ask because we're working on a smoother system for all this. There will probably be a "guest member" level where you can only edit your own profile, post comments, and participate in G2G. You'd still have to request a full membership.

We could always change this later, but it would be nice to have the right term written into the code.

Any ideas?

How about "candidate" ?
"Candidate" sounds good. No one should be upset by that.
How about an Applicant?
I'm thinking I like Applicant. By the way, my current thinking is that this would go on a badge. There would actually be two new badges: "Guest Member" and "Applicant" (if we use those names). The guest badge would enforce limitations on your account. It would be removed if you're invited/accepted into the community. The applicant badge would be permanent. It would indicate that you said you were a genealogist or serious family historian who intends to abide by the Honor Code.
I like "Applicant" for the step of asking for full membership, but it doesn't sound permanent to me because once you've been accepted, you aren't applying anymore. How about "Guest Member" and "Contributor" for badges?
I agree. Contributor is good once you've become accepted. It's allready widespread across the site.
Possibly: aspirant
I like Applicant too, but I agree that it's kind of odd for a permanent badge. Doesn't the Honor Code Signatory badge already indicate "that you said you were a genealogist or serious family historian who intends to abide by the Honor Code"?
I suggest "Wikitree-guest" who at stage 1 build/edit their profile. Once the profile is complete then they get access to the list of greeters and ability to send a "Request for membership". Once a "Request for membership" you are a "Wikitree applicant". You then can read G2G posts but cannot post comments until full membership.
I have a new idea: Volunteer.

Anyone can sign up as a WikiTree Guest Member. These guests cannot add or edit profiles other than their own. To contribute, they need to volunteer to be a Wiki Genealogist. Then a Greeter needs to confirm them.

Update: The Guest Member / Volunteer system is now live!

Maybe a WikiBud?

...or maybe a "budding WikiTreer"?
I like the positive, encouraging connotation of this. On the other hand, something simple like "applicant" might be more straightforward. In technical contexts, anyway.
I've been riding another hobby horse since Wednesday, I like "applicant," too. It states exactly what it represents.
