Firstly I do appreciate the intent of Matchbot and it should make finding duplicate profiles a good deal easier. Do we need it? IMHO yes we do, it eliminates a lot of work searching other ways.
However over the past few weeks I have had, on the same profile, 2 suggested merges. The first one being already rejected when I created the profile, and the second, I have also rejected because of the following: First name = same no problem there. Birth decade = same again no problem.
Birth location. My ancestor - England. Other profile - Russia
Family - nothing in common
So the question is, what criteria does Matchbot work to and could this criteria be adjusted to take into consideration already rejected matches, and things such as locations and family members (parents/spouse(s)) at least?
I am a very active PM as a standard rule but my concern is that if something happened where I could not be here would the merge go through as default after 30 days on open profiles?
Our Data Doctors do their best to keep up with these things but they can't be everywhere at once :)
