I need help with Edward J. Rountree (B. ~1780 Ireland) (D. ~1873 Taunton, MA) Married to Bridget Marren

Question

I am currently stuck in my research and have been for a bit now. In my current search I have (going from present to past):

My mother's grandparents:
*John Walter Rountree (B. May 22, 1895 Lowell, MA; D. June 23, 1966 Taunton, MA) married to Isabella Margaret O'Donnell*

Parents of John Walter Rountree:
*Edward Joseph Rountree (B. August 12, 1863 Taunton, MA; D. June 7, 1940 Taunton, MA) married to Margaret Ann McHugh*

Parents of Edward Joseph Rountree:
*John Rountree (B.June 22, 1835 County Monaghan, Ireland. D. March 10, 1911 Taunton, MA) married to Margaret English*

Parents of John Rountree:???
*Edward Joseph Rountree (B. ~1780 Ireland. D. March 31, 1872 Taunton, MA) married to Bridget Marren*

Brother of Edward Joseph Rountree:???
*John Rountree (B. June 24, 1802 County Monaghan, Ireland; D. December 8, 1873 Taunton, MA) married to Mary Barker.

Parents of John & Edward Joseph Rountree:???
*John Rountree (B. ~1750-1760 Ireland; D. ~1830-1840 Ireland) married to Martha?

I am positive of everything up until John Rountree (B. June 22, 1835) married to Margaret English. I am confused as to the specifics of his father, Edward Joseph Rountree (B. ~1780) as well as clarifying who his wife, brother, and parents really were. I cannot seem to find any records or sourcing proving John Rountree (B. 1802) as his brother, Bridget Marren as his wife, or John & Martha as his parents (other than Edwards death certificate naming his parents as John & Martha). Any help here???

Yes, I believe Edward could have been born anywhere from 1780-1795. I originally thought his birth was 1795 actually, but yesterday I was at the local historical society and I was looking through the Taunton, MA directories, and it is listed that Edward could have been born a bit earlier than that, say 1780/1781 which gives me the vague 1780-1795 birth range.

His father was John, but his mother is actually Martha, not Marsha. I saw a better image of Edward's death record and the writing under parents names definitely shows a "T" rather than an "S" in her name. I am fairly certain Edward (B: 1780-1795) & John Rountree (B: 1802) are brothers, but have no records showing it to be fact. All I know is they immigrated from the same area/time frame in Ireland to the same area/time frame in Taunton, MA. They could be first cousins just as easily as brothers, so I don't want to jump to conclusions.

The frustrating thing is I cannot find any records about Edward (B: 1780-1795) in regards to birth, marriage, or immigration records, his supposed wife, Bridget Marren I cannot find any birth, marriage, immigration, or death records on, his supposed parents, John Rountree & Martha (unknown surname) Rountree I cannot find any birth, marriage, immigration, or death records on. I don't know for certain of anything listed for them and Ancestry doesn't have any records fitting the bill when I do an all collections search. Do you know of any good Ireland sources for Birth/Marriage/Death/Burial records? I don't believe Edward's parents ever made it to the USA, so that would have to be where I look I suppose, but any help would be fantastic.

On Edward's wife, it wouldn't be the first time I saw that a child didn't know the full maiden name of their mother.  "Bridget Marren" could also be a bastardization of her Gaelic name Bridhe or something like that.  And Marren could be Moirren or something like that.  I see no evidence his wife made it to America as the family didn't arrive until about 1850 or later after all the kids were born.  She may have been buried in Ireland.

I don't know much about researching early Ireland resources yet.  I'm still working my U.S. ancestors.  But, you might be able to find an Irish member of Wikitree to give you pointers.
