My mother (Adriana M. Romo, 1929-2012), was a painter and visual artist and also a stay at home Mom, she was wonderful. My father, John D. Romo, who is still living, is a painter and so was his father, José Romo Vargas. My brother is also a painter, John David Romo, really talented, but he doesn’t pursue his art. My sister, Claudia, who passed away before 50, was a talented hairstylist who didn’t want to try painting! I’m a writer, and I think my grandsons will both be painters. One is autistic and is a whiz kid, the other will probably be musician as well. My son plays sax and piano.
Sorry, this is getting long, but I don’t often go on about my family who I love, and has seen much hardship. My great uncle, Pablo de Rokha, was a vanguardist poet, and so was his wife, Winett. I’m doing a doctoral thesis at my advanced age of 65 on one of their sons, Carlos, who was a surrealist poet.
Since my parents immigrated from Chile with my sister and me, in the 60s, I lost track of my roots, but I’m getting them back! My mom began with her genealogical research in 1999, and now I’m continuing. Thanks for listening, wikitreers!
