Only the documented and proven wife is listed for Archibald Crockett.

Archibald Crockett is listed most frequently on the Ancestry family trees as having married Elizabeth Hedge in 1749 in Greene County, North Carolina.  Archibald Crockett born about 1732  was never married to Elizabeth Hedge in 1749 in Greene County, North Carolina.  In 1749 Archibald Crockett would have been about 17 years of age and it is know from Augusta County Virginia court records that in 1751 Archibald Crockett was living in Augusta County, Virginia and that on the 28th of November, 1751 Archibald Crockett appeared in Augusta County Virginia court and "chose Robert Bratton and James McCorkle guardians.  . . guardians complain that John Ramsey, who married Margaret, relict of Robert Crockett, father of Archibald are wasting the estate."   On the 21st of May 1752 Archibald Crockett was still under guardianship in Augusta County, Virginia as "Robert Bratton, guardian of Archibald Crockett, against Robert Davis and Margaret Ramsey for detaining part of orphan's estate - order to summon" See: Augusta County Court Orders, Order Book 3, page 211 and 254; Also found in Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia Extracted from the Original Court Records of Augusta County 1745-1800 by Lyman Chalkley, Volume 1, pages 49 and 51.

It is known that Archibald Crockett was in Waxhaw District (Anson County), North Carolina by 1755 and was living next to William King.  Archibald married William King's daughter Mary Ann King.  William King names Archibald in his will which is dated 1788.

There is a marriage record for an Archibald Crockett in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina in January 1792 to a Deborah Wilson.  However, there is no way to know if this is the Archibald Crockett who was born about 1732 or another Archibald Crockett.  Archibald Crockett did not name a wife in his will so IF he was the Archibald who married Deborah Wilson she was deceased by the time he made his will in 1804 and they had no children as no minor children are named in his will.

The only wife currently listed on Archibald Crockett's (Crockett-375) profile is the wife that has been proven with records.  Archibald Crockett was not living in North Carolina in 1749, and was still a minor under guardianship in Augusta County, Virginia as late as 1752 so there is no way Archibald Crockett born about 1732 is the same Archibald Crockett who married Elizabeth Hedge.
