When did the artist Charlie Ward of Louisiana pass away?

I met Charlie in Louisiana approx. 10 years ago.  I have his prints of Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong.  I also have an Original of Stevie Ray Vaughn that he painted for me and sent to me.  I was just wondering when he passed away, etc.  Could you please respond to this e-mail.

Thank You

I am an old drinking buddy of Charlie Ward. I just got to thinking about my past in the 1/4, now reside in Costa Rica. Last I heard he was living with some Nuns in the Lower 1/4......I have an original oil by him!

Charlie was a dear friend of my fathers in Gulfport, MS.  As a favor to my mother for letting him "crash" on the couch, he drew several portraits of me and my sister.  I still have them today!  FYI- He cooked an incredible BBQ shrimp!
