Could you please provide me with Melton's who fought in the Civil war, or those in relation to the family?

My name is James Ray Melton II, my great grandparents are James Ward Melton and Vivian Anna Marie Melton. James Ward's father was Benjamin H. Melton, I believe. His Father was Ancel Marion Melton. His father was James Mattison Melton. Basically, I know that James Mattison migrated from Tennessee to Missouri. I'm looking for history on this portion of the family. Relation, and how they are related. Hoping the Geneological community could help an amateur enthusiastist. Thanks!

you might want to try searching the NPS database...http://www.nps.gov/civilwar/index.htm

Also, you might want to link to one or two of the profiles for the folks you're asking about (and if you don't have profiles for them... I've found that the best way to increase my knowledge about my ancestors is to post what I know - I've had some really great revelations provided by distant cousins who contacted me through those bare-boned profiles).

Happy hunting!
