I am trying to find out what happened to her after Eli A Baker died in the Civil War from 1864?

I was a member of Ancestry and could not find her and her children after 1864 when her husband (my 3rd great grandfather) died. I found her again in 1910 census, and found her tombstone in Elmwood Cemetery in our family plot. She was living in Tallapoosa County, AL when Eli died.

Martha Ann Rebecca Thornton is my 2nd Great Grandmother. I have a lot of information on her and her family. I just joined today and have not been confirmed, so I don't know how to get this info to you. Let me hear from you   Larry

Larry, you are now confirmed. I believe Ludwig K confirmed you.
How exciting! I am new to Wikitree also, so I am very unsure how things work at all. I am so excited, we are cousins then, because she is my 3rd great grandmother!  Her son Eli T was my 2nd grandfather, whose son Charles M was my grandfather! So where is your connection? I have lots of records on ancestry but I couldn't afford to continue (so wish I could!) I love this. Do you know what happened to her from the 1860 census to the 1910 census? I can not find her anywhere, she had 6 children all under the age of 17, the youngest was 4. I just can not imagine what she did to take care of all of them! On top of her tombstone there is an anchor, which the lady from the cemetery told me usually meant she was the "anchor" of the family. I will look forward to hearing what you know.
