Same William Cockburn?

+1 vote
I'm looking for information on an ancestor named William cockburn who, according to the 1900 US census, was born December 1869 in Scotland and emmigrated to the US in 1893. Could this be the same William Cockburn or is it a common name during the time period? The birth years are wrong, but I won't put it past the census to be a few years off.
