Hi Carol, could you tell us what your grandfather's surname was, maybe that would help with the search should she have used his last name at some point. From this question I could not determine if Thompson was her maiden name or a married name. Thanks.
Thompson was her maiden name they were married on April 05, 1905 she was 14 and he was 29 my grandfathers name was Charles Z. Brown find census 1900 her living with her family in Odin township village, Marion Illinois after their marriage I find no record of her and he married my grandmother on March 16, 1915 in Cape Girardeau Illinois, wondered what happened to her.

Hi Carol, it's been awhile, a little over two years since we heard from you here on G2G until yesterday. Hope you are doing well. Thanks for updating your question.

From all the research I have done with little info out there, I think the answer to your question of what happened to Cora, is that she may have passed away between the last census in 1910 and the new marriage of Charles Z. Brown in 1915. The last census  I found has Cora Brown Birth abt 1889 Illinois. Residence 1910 Jackson, Illinois.

Carol,

I found a marriage record of a child who appears to be the child of Cora Thompson and Charles Brown.  Cora is giving her consent for the marriage of her 16 year old daughter, Nellie B. Brown, but her signature on the document is "Cora Roosa" and her husband is (maybe a new husband?) "Daniel Roosa".

The marriage document definitely says Nellie B. Brown is the daughter of Cora Thompson and Charles Brown.

Maybe this will help you find her.

Was still worth a look at -- and, who knows, there may be a link somewhere up the tree; or someone else looking for just THAT Cora Thompson will see your post and it will answer their brick wall.

No research is ever void, even if it seems so at the time.
