The University of Strathclyde is offering a FREE Six week online course called Researching Your Family Tree Starting January 29th:

The course is intended to help people at the beginner to intermediate level develop an understanding of basic genealogy techniques and how to communicate their family history. Participants will learn how to find and analyse sources and explore the potential of DNA testing as applied to genealogy. They will also be taught how to add historical context to their family history.

I took the course awhile back. It is top notch and easy to follow. It takes about an hour a day for 5 to 6 weeks. I would recommend it to anyone involved in genealogy. Great for beginners as well.
