What is the maiden name of Elinor who married George Pownall?

Question

Elinor was married about 1670 to George Pownall, but there is disagreement about what her maiden name was.  Her profile currently says her LNAB was Carter, but Worrall and Gardner have also been suggested.  According to this source ( http://sbaldw.home.mindspring.com/flist.htm ) there is apparently an article in The American Genealogist which presents evidence suggesting her LNAB was Worrall or Gardner:

Yes, I've seen that before.  But she was married to William Pownall, not George Pownall.  I suppose that is where the Carter suggestion came from.

Findagrave memorials are often not good sources, especially before 1700. Their sources are too often not given and unreliable (such as Ancestry.com).      

   I am just hoping someone with access to the article in The American Genealogist can evaluate the evidence given there (and that journal is usually a very good source of information).

It's been almost a year since I posted this and no changes have been made.  Should her last name at birth be "Unknown" (since it is uncertain whether it was Worrall or Gardner)?  

If so, should a new profile be made (LNAB as Unknown) and the Carter profile be merged into it?  Or can someone just edit the LNAB from Carter to Unknown?
