About changing email address when you move somewhere else

Question

Like if I move from where I am right now in Loudon, Tennessee and move up to Greeneville, Tennessee and I change my email address because like my email address is with charter.net and when I move  up to my sisters old house they have Comcast for cable so my email address will likely change I would I go about login in when I change email address only thing I would change for login would be my email address. Because I will not know what my email address would be so I can't tell you what it will be but about sometime this year or next year I will be moving. Well thay do not have charter cable there but Comcast cable for TV and that might be what would use for my internet also. But how would I get or change to  my new email address on this with the same password and take off the old when I move and find out what my new email will be. My email was set up by my mother thru charter cable company when she set up her own email address.

You should be able to keep your same emaiL address wherever you go.

It's not best practice to use your personal ISP provided email address for something like Wikitree.  You should take a gmail account or another similar account that is easy to change if necessary.  Use your internet provider issued one only for serious stuff like bank contacts, utility companies, etc.  I say that because someone used my email address to try to make a scam and I had to contact loads of people (cable, electric, gas, telephone, etc.) to have my email address changed.  Also that made me lose contacts with a few people that only knew how to reach me with that old email address.

I find out by asking my sister since I had wireless internet if I had to change my email address when I move up there and she said that I would not change my email address so it will be the same when I move.

I agree with Vincent. Internet service provider email addresses are,most likely, monitored by the provider. I use my personal Gmail address for everything.

I do not even know what the email address is that Spectrum, my isp, gave me. I have email address with Hotmail, Gmail, Outlook and others that are all free and portable. I have moved 8 times since 1998 and have changed providers about the same number of times but those email addresses stayed the same and I use different addresses for different things. On my main email page I have the ability to link several emails addresses on to one page  for display purposes to make my life easier.

I found out long ago using the email that my internet provider gave me was a hassle when I needed to change providers. I switched to using a google or yahoo address so I didn't need to change my email ever again, no matter what company was providing internet. That's a personal choice, though.

You can most certainly change your email. Once you arrive wherever you're headed and know what your email address will be/is, just log in to WikiTree and go to your profile. Add your email address there where the old one is. IMPORTANT: DO NOT SAVE UNTIL YOU HAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS IN THAT FIELD! Saving without an email there closes your account and you'll have to go through a process to recover your watchlist. It's a slow process and is easily avoided by making sure you put an email in that field before saving. Your password should remain the same.
