Hi,

Can you tell us more ? Source ? A family lore or a written document ?

Approximative years of birth and death ? Where did he live ? Who was his wife ? Any children ?

BEYETTE seems to be a French Canadian family name

and probably an alteration of another family name ? BOYETTE, BOETTE, BOUET ...?

Some years ago Susan Beyette in Canada, I believe, compiled a Beyette Family Tree (they are French Canadians). They may be connected with the American Beyettes, but the connection  is tenuous as I recall.

It may have been on Rootsweb.

I think the Lafayette part is mythology, as I never seen anything, other than family lore, to substantiate it.
