Praying for you. I hope all is well
Lily,

Are you able to have surgery to correct your vision?  I know that I started to have serious problems with my vision and new glasses temporarily corrected the problem.  The eye Dr. said I had started to develop cataracts, but surgery was not necessary yet.  There were times that I felt I was going blind.  I pray that your condition is correctable with surgery.

Saying a Prayer for you now

Lilly - so sorry to hear that you're having problems with your vision. I will pray for you. I don't know if there are any family members or cousins who have worked with you on your tree, as they would be good candidates to take over. I also noticed that several of your family members have "Red" privacy, which means that it's difficult to see who all of them are or how they're connected. This is typical for living persons, although you can lower the privacy to "Yellow" to allow the family connections to be seen.

Your open profiles should be OK, as anyone can edit those, but it would be good if we can find someone to take over the non-Open profiles in your tree. I do see that a Glenna Tolliday has been entering in profiles that probably should be merged with yours, and that may help with someone looking over the duplicates. I'll go through and see if I can't propose some merges to help this out.

OK - I've proposed several merges and added some sources to the existing profiles. I'll see what I can do to help out a bit more later, but one area that caught my attention was these two guys:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Baleing-1

and

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bolden-141

I'm pretty sure they're the same person, but the LNAB is confusing. Is it that records reflected both names at various times due to misspellings, or was it that it was difficult to determine what the appropriate LNAB was as there was no clear winner? I didn't see sources to clarify, so I just want to be sure before I attempt to look into merges in that line.

Thanks!
Thank you, Scott, Yes they are the same person. I tried to correct it but I couldn't. This William is my GrGrGrandpa. his Daughter is my Gr grandma Susan and she spelled her name Bolden.

Thanks again, Lilly
Hi Lilly,

I can help out with the Smith's and Bowling's. I suspect they probably link into the Smith's that I have been adding, as it appears from some of your profiles that much like the ancestors I'm working on they migrated from Ashe, North Caroline into western Virginia and Eastern, Kentucky.

Thanks
Lilly, would it also be possible to set your profile's security setting to "Private with Public Tree"?

That way we can actually see your family tree to be able to help out where we can.

I understand if you have other reasons for not doing this.
Hi Eric, I have tried to change the profile from private to public, and I cannot do it. I don't know what I am doing wrong. thank you,

Lilly Anderson
Hi Lilly,

- Go to your Profile page here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Smith-101986

- Click on the "Privacy" tab up at the top of the page

- Scroll down to the series of lock icons. These are the different levels of privacy that can be set for your profile

- Click on the radio button besides the lock that says "Private with Public Family Tree"

- Scroll down and click on the button "Set New Privacy Level".

That should take care of it. Doing this will keep your profile Private, but set your Family Tree to Public. This allows other people on WikiTree to see your family tree. If we can see your family tree, then we can also help to figure out the best way to help out with the profiles that you manage.
In the interim, if you go to this open profile and do a descendant view, you get an idea of the profiles in the "Smith" line that are involved:

Very interesting - Lilly, I think you have two accounts as well!

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Smith-33859

This appears to be your original account from maybe 2012.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Smith-101986

And I think this is your current account.

So if someone is looking at changes for profiles, you might want to check both just to be sure.
