I'm looking at the Drouin scan on LAFRANCE-looks okay to me, maybe a little faded.  Marie Louise La Croix was born and baptized on 10 April 1770 at St-Denis-sur-Richelieu.  Her parents were Etienne La Croix and Marie Louise Maillet, and her godparents were Jean-Baptiste Maillet and Marie Louise (Clopin?  Clopier?).  Link for reference is https://www.genealogiequebec.com/Membership/LAFRANCE/img/acte/546388

I'm not sure if we're looking at the same record, as I notice that her profile says she was born in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli.  Etienne Bourgault dit Lacroix and Judith Maillet lived far away from there, in Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, where the daughter married André Combe in 1798.

Here's the church copy, available for free at FamilySearch:

Hi Greg,

S-J-P-J comes from a suggested correction on Ancestry. If that is the only point of contention, I will opt for the location you state. Don't have a sub to your link unfortunately. BTW, that's the date I thought I was reading, but I didn't want to introduce bias. I was starting to go cross-eyed., and could not for the life of me see the DOB.

Thanks much,

Bruce
Checked the FamilySearch scan. Night and day. Noticed Joseph Emery Codère, who ttbomk is unrelated. Emery's are not part of my line.
Definitely agreed-much easier to read the FamilySearch version in this case.  It's also free and has a built-in citation, which is also a plus.
Might as well make it habit to check FS when in doubt. Haven't spent much time there lately, though it's been generally helpful,. Some profiles in my tree that were already there are botched, and need serious overhauling, which turned me off somewhat...
The trees on every site are botched, it is the records on Family Search that should be looked at. Generally, according to most comments made in the past on the various message board sites, Family Search has the best images.

Marie Louise Lacroix is the name at birth, her father was Étienne Bourgault dit Lacroix, her mother Marie Judith Maillet, who got recorded as Marie Louise on this baptism.  (sigh, happened often).  Fixed the place name, it's not just St-Denis, but St-Denis-sur-Richelieu.
