Searching for additional information about Great-great grandmother

Question

I would like to be able to find the proof before changing Georiga's maiden name to Taggart. The information that I do have is on her profile. I have been told that she was a Taggart (or any variation of the spelling to include McTaggart and MacTaggart). From other searches done by my immediate family, Georgia's family could have been forcibly sent to Brown County, Indiana, around 1653/4. I do not have much more information other than her first name, her husband and three children (one of whom is my Great-grandfather).

Comments

Best to create profiles for all three children.  Add the 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930, 1940 census for all of them.  Look for their marriage, military and death records and anything else that you might find.  If the children died in California it will have their mother's last name on the death record.  Also California marriage records have information about the parents as well.  Good luck!

As a Taggart descendant and researcher I can tell you Brown County is a hot bed of Taggarts. Also, Los Angeles is where the patriarch of my Taggart line went after Oregon and he met his second wife Sarah Casey.

As far as I know, Lance, no one in my family has taken a DNA test. Unfortunately, I have not been able to convince my parents or siblings to do so. I haven't done one yet, but hope to be able to do so in the not-too-distant future.
