Still searching for parents of Cyrus Flint. Born 1807 in either Vermont or Canada (both are listed as birth place on different census reports). First wife was Sylvia Emerson. Second wife Irena Emerson (sister of Sylvia?). Cyrus's father was born in Conn. probably between 1750-1780. He lived in Vermont (Roxbury or Braintree) in early adulthood and moved to Brasher,, St. Lawrence County, New York by 1840. Several Emerson, Flint, and Chaffee families also moved from Vermont to Lawrence and Brasher NY. Anyone with a clue as to parentage of Cyrus?

The reference to Canada in the 1850 census for his birthplace may have referred to what we now know as Ontario or Quebec, as Canada wasn't formed - or named until 1867. I assume you have that and the 1860 Census, and just haven't got around to adding them to the biography?

You may not have found the 1880 Census, as his name is misspelled Sirus, but it clearly indicates his parents were born in Connecticut ("United States Census, 1880," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MZFN-XQM : 13 September 2017), Sirus Flint, Brasher, St Lawrence, New York, United States; citing enumeration district ED 196, sheet 103B, NARA microfilm publication T9 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.), roll 0925; FHL microfilm 1,254,925.)

I'm descended from some Vermont-Massachusetts Emersons and have some info that will help with his wives. Do you prefer that I share my information with you directly, or that I enter it in the WikiTree profiles?
Thank you Laurie Giffin for the additional information and proposing the merge of two Cyrus Flints.  I would very much appreciate any information you can add to Emerson profiles and you are welcome to contact me directly as well.

There were many Flints in the town of Windham, Connecticut, in the 1700s, a large fraction of whom went to Vermont. My ancestor Eunice (Flint) Martin was one who went to Vermont, and she has a half-brother Silas Flint-980 who went to Canada.

Your ancestor might be from the Windham Flints, but I don't have any ideas beyond that. See http://www.ctgenweb.org/county/cowindham/records/barbour/vitals.html for free access to early vital records for Windham.

Thank you Ellen.  I have been exploring line of Silas Flint and other Windham Flints that moved to Vermont.  No direct connection to Cyrus found yet.
My great-grandfather Alven M. Smith published a Flint Genealogy -- descendants of Thomas Flint and William Flint of Salem, Mass., but I don't know who (if anyone) in my generation of the family has a copy. WorldCat lists libraries that have it in their collection: http://www.worldcat.org/title/thomas-flint-and-william-flint-of-salem-mass-and-their-descendants-also-of-the-probably-unrelated-lines-of-lt-robert-flint-of-sproutbrook-montgomery-co-ny-and-robert-flint-of-virginia-and-trenton-nj/oclc/22642950
