Is there a way of thanking people for private message, so that they get credit for their kindness?

I've had a private message from a member and he was very kind in his response to my asking if he'd mind changing the wife's surname to include the husband's surname (by putting the husband's surname into the "Current Surname" field on the profile) for ease of merging profiles with similar names. The profile is open, so technically I COULD have done it, but I've been choosing not to do that (anymore), since it's been explained to me that some people don't take their husband's surname upon marriage, particularly in Quebec and...Ireland?

I asked him because it gives the opportunity for the name of the wife to be matched with the spouse, which is particularly helpful for finding merges of people who were married more than once, and people who have very similar names. (Some people have more information on a spouse before marriage, and some have more information on a spouse after marriage, so putting both names makes it easier to find the proper profile, and no need to dig through each profile to find out if they married a particular person.

All of that being said, I got a really nice message from a user, but I can't figure out how to thank them publicly for the understanding, cooperation and kindness. The user was

Thanks for the question about how to thank James! Once you know a WikiTree member's ID, you can click on the link on their page that says something like "James's 13558 contributions" and when you click that, you'll find yourself on a new page that shows you all the actions James has taken that you can thank him for.

You can also utilize that same page to give him a badge that you feel is fitting, to more publicly thank him--and when you nominate him for the badge, you can write about how understanding, cooperative and kind he has been. The way you get to the badges is after you've clicked one of the "thank you" options, and then you can choose which award seems most fitting for him, such as "Generous Genealogist"

Have fun with this, and thanks again so very much for making this extra effort to let James know what a difference he makes for you and WikiTree!
