Possible duplicate profiles

I am almost halfway through sourcing an orphaned GEDCOM.   I have done
over 3000 profiles in it.  I estimate that more than 60% of them are based on Dorothy Maltby Verrill's published Maltby family history which was published in the early 1900s and notes she had acquired by the 1950s, and was about to publish when she died, and is computerized as a tripod.  Using this past experience I feel that May Maltbie-304 and Lizzie May Maltby-258 are the same girl.  May was never listed as a child in the first entrance in the tripod.  She is not on any censuses I found and there does
not appear to be any birth or death records in Ohio for her.  Can anyone
find evidence of her existence and/or should I merge them based on what I
have presented here?

Maltby-258 and Maltbie-304 ...

- one was born in the 1870's and the other in 1940's

- parents are not the same

- sisters / brothers are different

How could those two profiles represent the same person ?

Guy, Beulah just mistyped.  I looked at Maltbie-304 and Maltbie-258.  (There are a lot of Maltbys in that gedom, too.)

OK.... right they look alike.

Thank you for working that gedcom. I've adopted a few of those who tied in to my family.

It look to me like you've checked all available records. I would merge.

Thank you for the spelling correction.  I am so used to Maltby that I have
to concentrate to keep it out of all the Maltbies in Ohio.  I should have had
my coffee earlier.
