If someone wants to add documentation fine, even a comment but why remove a 1776 sticker? This is very annoying.

I have been going the maintenance category and slowly trying to re-categorize them.

It has been hard work trying find where the patriot served, in the Line or the Militia, what regiment or sometimes even what State.  Trying to find sources, etc.  50% of the time all they have is the {{1776}} no bio, or no mention of any service, and I have been trying to find the records for ALL of them.

I spend about an hour on each patriot looking up records and if in that time. I don’t find anything, I NEVER remove them, I will put the following [[Category: 1776 Project Needs Category]] Or If they have something in the bio and I can’t find any sources I add [needs citation] but don’t removed them.

I have removed wives of patriots and remarked in the change tab why.  Or once, I came across a example of a profile of with a DAR ancestor as a source, checked the source, and DAR said there were 2 men of the same name, same time period and the Patriot was not allowed and there was nothing in the blank bio, I removed the {{1776}} main and asked needs some bio on service and/or citation to find out which one this man was.

Look on the change tab for answers to why it was removed, I don’t normally write in why I re-categorize them, it seems self-explanatory, only if removed.

I wonder if going through something like the DAR records and marking them could be the easier approach. If the ones that CAN be found in the obvious records are marked, they at least would be taken out of the questionable category.  (Of course if they don't exist yet and are created later...) I suppose creating them like creating notables, would be one way of doing it.
Something more visible than making someone look at the change tab might help though. A research note perhaps explaining what was done.
What about the medals put on the graves? Usually some organization does that.
Problem is not everyone is in the DAR site. I have a few who aren't. Their service is listed elsewhere thanks to FamilySearch and books.

there should be some documentation supporting the {{1776} sticker.  yes, just removing it might not be the way to go, if nothing to show for it, commenting it out with an added research note would be a better way.

even better would be to help with the documentation, like the difference between adding unsourced versus finding sources.
