fixing parent/child relation

Question

This profile should be mother rather than father to son Carl.  I tried to detach from the mother's side, but as I am not on the trusted list or manager of the son, I don't think I can do it.

Not sure I understand your problem. Mary Ann seems to be showing as the mother of Carl.

It looks good there, but from son's side I can't change it -- she's under the father side of the ledger.

OK, I see your problem now. Carl's profile is managed by the Czech Roots Project. Try contacting them to see if they can fix the relationship. I have also tagged your post to bring it to the attention of the project.
